WINDOW TINTING
How long does window tint last?
RUMMAR gives a lifetime warranty on window tinting. We work with STEK
film, a premium film that does not discolour, does not turn purple and does not peel. Under
normal use the tint stays exactly as it looked on day one, for as long as you own the car. You
receive a personal warranty certificate.
Cheap film turns purple after two or three years and starts bubbling along the edges,
because of low-grade adhesive and pigment. STEK film uses a stable pigment system, so
the colour does not degrade. Our warranty covers discolouration, bubbling and the film
coming loose.
Is window tinting legal in Belgium?
The rear side windows (from the B-pillar back) and the rear window may be
tinted, provided your car has two exterior mirrors. On the windscreen and front side
windows, Belgian law does not allow any film that was not fitted at the factory. Only a sun
strip on the windscreen is permitted, within the legal dimensions.
During a roadside check, police measure light transmission with a calibrated tint meter. If it
is too low you risk a fine and an order to have the film removed on the spot, and your car will
fail its technical inspection. RUMMAR therefore fits tint according to the law, so your car
stays inspection-proof. Have a particular situation, such as a vehicle that never goes on
public roads? Discuss it with us at the workshop.
Which tints can I choose?
We work with three STEK ranges — ICY, Smart and NEX — each available in
different light transmission percentages. The lower the percentage, the darker the window.
We look at your car’s colour, the interior and how much privacy you want, and choose the
right combination together with you.
How long does tinting take?
Window tinting takes around half a day, depending on the model and the
number of windows. You can collect the car the same day. Keep the windows closed for
three to five days afterwards so the adhesive can fully cure. Slight haziness during that
period is normal and disappears on its own.
What does window tinting cost at RUMMAR?
Window tinting at RUMMAR starts from € 150. The final price depends on
the model, the number of windows and the film you choose. We always give a fixed price up
front, with no surprises afterwards. Send us your make and model and you will have a quote
the same day.
PPF — PAINT PROTECTION FILM
What exactly is PPF?
PPF stands for Paint Protection Film: a transparent, self-healing film applied
over your paintwork. It absorbs stone chips, scratches, insects and dirt instead of your
paint. Light scratches disappear by themselves with heat. The paint underneath stays in as-
new condition, which protects the resale value of the car.
How long does PPF last?
RUMMAR gives a 10-year warranty on PPF (Full, Front, door sills and
interior) and 7 years on Colour PPF. STEK film does not yellow and leaves no adhesive
residue when removed. Two weeks after fitting we invite you back for a free follow-up check
of every edge and corner.
What is the difference between Full PPF and Front PPF?
Front PPF protects only the areas that take the most stone chips: bonnet,
front bumper, mirrors and headlights. Full PPF protects the entire body. Front is the usual
choice for daily drivers; Full is chosen for new, exclusive or dark cars that need to stay
flawless everywhere.
Will PPF damage my paint when it is removed?
No. Quality STEK film can be removed professionally without adhesive
residue and without damaging the paint, even after years. What matters is that the paint is
original and in good condition when the film is applied. On resprayed or damaged paint we
assess beforehand whether fitting is advisable.
What is the two-week follow-up check?
Two weeks after Full or Front PPF is fitted, we ask you to come back for a
free checkup. We inspect every edge, corner and transition now that the film has fully
cured. That appointment is noted on your warranty certificate and is a condition of the full
warranty.
WRAP
What is car wrapping?
In a wrap we cover your car fully or partially in coloured film. The original
paint stays untouched and protected underneath. You can completely change the colour of
your car and later return to the original paint, without losing value when you sell.
How long does a wrap last?
RUMMAR gives a 2-year warranty on wraps, full or partial. In practice a well-
maintained wrap lasts longer, especially on cars kept indoors. Avoid harsh roller car washes
and use pH-neutral products; that is what keeps the film’s colour and gloss the longest.
How long will my car be with you for a wrap?
Allow three to five working days for a full wrap. The car is first cleaned and
degreased thoroughly, then parts are removed so the film can be laid neatly around the
edges. A partial wrap or chrome delete is usually finished in one to two days.
What is chrome delete?
With chrome delete we wrap all the chrome parts of the car, usually in gloss
or matte black: window trims, grille, mirrors and badges. It gives a sharper, more modern
look without replacing the original parts. RUMMAR gives a 2-year warranty on this.
POLISH & COATING
What does a ceramic coating do?
A ceramic coating forms a hard, water-repellent layer over your paint. Dirt,
water and insects stick less, the car stays clean longer and gains deeper gloss. A coating
protects against contamination and UV, but not against stone chips — that requires PPF.
Combining both gives the best result.
How long does a coating last?
RUMMAR gives a 1 to 2 year warranty on coating, depending on
maintenance. On a coating applied over PPF we give 3 years. Washing regularly with pH-
neutral shampoo and avoiding harsh roller car washes is what determines how long the layer
stays active.
Why polish first?
A coating seals the paint as it is — including any existing swirls and
scratches. That is why we polish first to remove them. Only on perfectly level paint does a
coating give the deep, even gloss it is meant to give. Polishing alone carries no warranty, as
paint keeps wearing through use.

window tinting. Every application is carried out in our own workshops by trained installers, in
a low-dust environment. After the work you receive a work order and a warranty certificate
issued for your vehicle.

Do I get the warranty in writing?
Yes. After every treatment you receive a digital warranty certificate with your
vehicle details, the services carried out and the warranty term for each one. It also includes
the maintenance instructions and general conditions. Keep this document: it is your proof
for any warranty claim and when you sell the car.
Do I need to maintain my car differently afterwards?
Wait seven days after application before washing the car. After that, avoid
roller car washes with brushes and choose hand washing with pH-neutral shampoo. Do not
use aggressive degreasers or a pressure washer close to the edges of the film. These
instructions are also on your warranty certificate.
Does RUMMAR offer transport?
Yes. RUMMAR has enclosed, exclusive transport for cars that cannot drive
under their own power or should not be exposed to the open air. Ideal for classics, sports
cars and freshly treated vehicles. “Protect what you love” — on the road as well. Ask us
about the options when you book.
